The Inca Jungle tour is one of the most wonderful alternative tours being comprehensive and flexible. It is an extreme adventure tour mixed with descent biking and hiking beautiful landscapes, and finally Machu Picchu one of the wonders of the modern world.


DAY 1: Cusco - Abra Malaga – Santa Maria

Pick up is at your hotel at 7:30 a.m. then head out on a 4 hour drive to Abra Malaga (4,350 m.a.s.l). Along the route we will enjoy views of colorful and attractive places such as Chincheros and the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Once arriving in the Abra Malaga we begin our adventure with the bike ride down-hill for 5 hours, to the jungle, through small rustic villages, orchards and rivers, where we will arrive at the archaeological complex of Huamanmarca tour.

Arrival in Santa Maria about 5:00 pm instead of overnight


DAY 2: Santa Maria – Hot Springs, Santa Teresa

At 6:00 am, after breakfast, we start the walk along the banks of the Vilcanota Oroyas river where we will be crossing pedestrian bridges. Along this route we find original Inca trails, and as we move more into the jungle we will find plantations of coca and coffee as well as exotic fruits like mango, pineapple, oranges and avocados. Medicinal plants and birds native to the area can be seen in abundance. We will head to Quellomayo for lunch, next on to the hot springs to enjoy a relaxing bath and then head to Santa Teresa.


DAY 3: Santa Teresa - Hydroelectric Train Station - Aguas Calientes

We continue our journey along this route where we will cross a bridge and see the water- falls continuing on to the hydroelectric train station where you will see the beautiful skyline of Machu Picchu. After 2.5 hours, we arrive in Aguas Calientes at approximately 4 pm., where we sleep in a hotel for the night.


DAY 4: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu-Cusco

We start the day with an early breakfast then walk for 1.5 hours to reach Machu Picchu. In Machu Picchu we will have a guided tour of approx. 3 hours visiting the main sites of Machu Picchu, followed by free time to explore on our own before meeting at 3:00 p.m. to return to Aguas Calientes train station where we take the 4:00 p.m. train back to Cusco, arriving at approx. 8:20 p.m.
