DAY 01: Arrival in Lima

Arrival in Lima Peru, reception at the airport by the travel agency representative who will welcome you and make the corresponding transfer to a selected hotel.

DAY 02: Lima - City Tour / Paracas ( d )

Breakfast, we start the morning with a City Tour of Lima We will visit the most important and characteristic of the city , with their typical features of the colonial era , such as the Main Square , Government Palace , the Cathedral, the Archbishop's Palace , Municipality of Lima , Desamparados (homeles) train  station and old streets and classic colonial era mansions and Moorish balconies , then we will take a tour of Church San Francisco with its majestic Convent and Catacombs Art Museum . Leaving Lima Antigua, we will go to San Isidro and Miraflores, to El Mirador or Parque del Amor making a contrast between ancient and modern Lima, And for lunch we will enjoy the best of the peruvian food from the coast.

Then transfer to the bus to Paracas on a journey of three hours approx. On arrival we will receive and transfer you to your accommodation. Overnight in Pisco or Paracas.


DAY 03: Paracas - Ballestas Islands / Nazca (d, a)

After breakfast you will be transferred to the port on the shore of the Pacific ocean to take comfortable boats to the Ballestas Islands. We will be able to see in our journey, the famous Paracas´ Candelabro (candlestick) where the Nazca Lines start from. Arrive on the Ballestas Islands, where we will apppreciate the impressive marine fauna: the big colonies of sea birds as guanay, the booby, the tendril, etc., Also look at some examples of Humboldt penguins (endangered) and large colonies of seals (fur seals and sea lion) and other species. After 02 hours of travel we return to the port of Paracas. After a short break take a brief tour of the area of the Paracas Reserve where you can see various figures that have been formed by nature. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the bus station towards the city of Nazca located approx. 05 hours off the port in Paracas.

Overnight in Paracas.


DAY 04: Nazca - Nazca Lines / Arequipa (d, a)

After breakfast you will be taken to the airport to fly over the famous and enigmatic Nazca Lines  for approx. 30 minutes. As much a mystery as the purpose of creation, and according to Maria Reiche, who dedicated much of her life studying these lines, it is the largest astronomical calendar of the world. Fly over the mysterious traces done on sand, covering an area of 350 km2, these figures represent different animals and plants like a spider, a monkey, a dog, a lizard, a humming-bird, a condor, etc., Reaching dimensions of 15 300 meters each and a depth of 30 inches or so. Then, free time to enjoy the region (lunch will be paid by passengers-not included on the tour). In the afternoon or evening you will be transferred to the bus headed to the city of Arequipa in a journey of 08 hours approx. Overnight on the bus or in Arequipa depending on the time of departure from Nazca.


DAY 05: Arequipa - City Tour (d)

After Breakfast, you will be taken to the airport in order to fly to Arequipa. Reception on arrival and transfer to accommodation. In the afternoon, you will take a city tour that includes a visit to the Monastery of Santa Catalina. The Santa Catalina Convent opened in 1970 is one of the most remarkable constructions of the city, its walls hide 400 years of history. The city has Spanish style buildings and ancient churches built upon ashlar which is white volcanic stone that has been used in the construction of the city of Arequipa.


Day 6 : Arequipa / Colca Canyon ( d )

Very early after breakfast, we will leave the city of Arequipa taking the northern route towards Yura, the tour will visit the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca to watch vicuñas, llamas and alpacas in the wild , in Pampa Cañahuas we see different types of birds like flamingos, herons, Andean geese , ducks , eagles of the Andes " kara kara".Then get to the viewpoint of the volcano where we will have a privileged view of snow-covered mountains in Patapampa ( 4800 m. or 15 000 feet ) . Arrival to Chivay, capital of the valley, lunch and accommodation at the hotel. In the evening as an option we can visit the hot springs of " La Calera " with water temperature of 40 °celsius which contain medicinal properties. Overnight in Yanque or Chivay.


DAY 07: Chivay / Colca Canyon / Arequipa ( d )

After breakfast, we begin our journey along the left bank of the river Colca, then we will visit beautiful typical villages like Yanque and Maca, also colonial churches and we will contact  friendly people who still wear their costumes which they embroider themselves. In the tour we will see hundreds of platforms or pre -Inca terraces that are still used and where they grow corn , quinoa, amaranth , etc.


DAY 08: Puno / Uros Islands and Taquile ( d , a)

Our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Puno in the morning, from here you will take a two -hour motor boat excursion on Lake Titicaca to the unique floating Uros Island. These ancient inhabitants of the lake are known as the Water Tribe, because they must construct their own Islands periodically, adding new layers of a type of unique reed called " Totora”. Their homes and boats are also made from this material. We continue our journey by motor boat onto Taquile Island, inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives who through generations, have developed an efficient and singular social system of weaving techniques. Then You will need to climb a 567-step stairs to reach the center of Taquile, where we take a break for lunch in a typical inn. In the afternoon we take our boat back to Puno again appreciating all the beautiful sunset at Lake Titicaca. Overnight in Puno.


DAY 09: Puno / Cusco - Tour with stops en route ( d , a)

Breakfast very early, around 07:30 am, then private transfer to the bus station  where you will take a tourism bus with service on board to travel along the scenic route to Puno. Four tour stops are made, also making an additional stop for lunch. The route is as follows.


Pukara - Puno: It is the most important and oldest ceremonial center of the south andean highlands (altiplano), even before Tiahuanaco culture. It is characterized by a series of stepped platforms that resemble a pyramid called kalasasaya, which culminates in a flat ceremonial center. You can also see impressive litho - sculptures, stelae and tombstones of members and characters that appear to show evidence of a brave civilization. This is where we discover the origins of Andean culture in the Altiplano (south andean range).


LA RAYA: (Midpoint in Cusco - Puno) is the highest part of the journey and it is located at an altitude of 4335 m. Here we can see beautiful inter-andean mountains and landscapes, also you can view the birth of the Amazon River, also animals like llamas, alpacas and vicuñas. This area represents the geographical connection between two cultures, the Aymara and Quechua , here you can see a dry arid plateau in conjunction with the Quechua area rivers and streams.


RAQCHI ARCHAEOLOGICAL COMPLEX: At about 117 km from the city of Cusco. Raqchi (3485 m) is a small village of farmers and potters in which a group of families have adapted their homes to welcome tourists in a novel experiential tourism program. It is dated back to the fifteenth century and considered by historians as one of the most audacious Inca constructions. The Temple of Viracocha outstands, with 100 m long and 20 m wide, which is made of adobe walls of volcanic stone foundations. The complex also includes an area of housing for the Inca nobility and dozens of circular rooms for food storage.


ANDAHUAYLILLAS: In this area you will visit st. Peter's church of Andahuaylillas which is known as the "Sistine Chapel" of America and a mayor attracction for visitors due to the quality of their artwork. It was built by the Jesuits in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. Its architectural structure is that one of classic small town churches. Its walls are broad, typical colonial buildings made of mud bricks dried in the sun, a facade adorned with murals and two stone columns projected towards the main gate. While its architecture is relatively modest, the interior decoration is of the most impressive

DAY 10: Cusco - City Tour (d)

After breakfast, have a morning off. In the afternoon around 13:30 hours approx. you will be picked up from your accommodation for a guided tour of Cusco downtown, visiting the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Temple of the Sun Koricancha - Santo Domingo, and then go around to the ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Q'enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. Then you will return to the city in the afternoon. Overnight in Cusco.


DAY 11: Cusco / Sacred Valley of the Incas (d, a)

After breakfast, we start at about 9 am. , we will pick you up at your hotel, to have a guided tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, in Urubamba. Watching a panoramic view of the Inca citadel of Pisac and then you will visit the typical Indian market in Pisac (only Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays). Here you will have the opportunity to learn about the customs of its people, then we will be headed to the City of Urubamba. Lunch at a local restaurant in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Afternoon visit to the Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes of the jungle. It was a military, religious and cultural site during the Inca Empire. On the way back to Cusco we will visit the picturesque Andean village of Chinchero where the royal hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui still remains. Return to the city of Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.


DAY 12: Cusco / Machu Picchu Excursion ( d , a)

We pick you up from your hotel in Cusco, after breakfast ( 3400 m ) and take you to the train station to be boarded on the train and start the journey towards the town of " Aguas Calientes " ( 2000 m ). Our guide will be waiting to take you to the bus station and ascend 400 meters high, by a zigzag path for 20 minutes to reach the incredible wonder of the world " The Sanctuary of Machupicchu ", known as " the Lost City of the Incas”. When you get to the citadel of Machu Picchu, we will begin our guided tour , visiting the Main Plaza , the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and the cemeteries around for more than two hours .

In the afternoon you will board the train back to Cusco, after arriving at the train station, you will be taken to your hotel. Overnight in Cusco


DAY 13: Cusco / Puerto Maldonado - Tambopata RESERVE (B, L, D)

Reception at the airport, transfer to the office and to the port to get on a boat with outboard and go up the Tambopata River (approx. 3 hours). Depending on time, we will have a quick snack (Box- Lunch) in the boat or upon arrival to the El. On the way, we can see alligators, turtles, waterfowls, etc. Then After three hours of journey, we will arrive at EI where we receive a welcome cocktail. We are now deep in the pristine rainforest and surrounded by their sounds. After a short break we will take a short hike to a small lagoon and return at time to the Sunset Point to watch an unforgettable sunset in the jungle. Once at the lodge we will board the boat again at dusk, to search and see alligators with flashlights. In return, we will dine in the IE in the NATURALIST RESIDENCE (RN),where you will be able to ask any questions about the Amazon rainforest and the Tambopata Reserve Zone.


DAY 14: Puerto Maldonado - Tambopata RESERVE (B, L, D)

After an early breakfast, take a walk of 5 1/2 Km to the lagoon Cocococha, guided by one of our Resident Naturalists. On the way we will observe exotic plants, birds and insects as butterflies also some variety of monkeys and, with some luck, perhaps one (s) of the large mammals. In the lagoon, we can canoe as we wish to take a little tour around and watch the giant river otters and wildlife on its shores. Return to EI for lunch.  And maybe in the late afternoon have some free time to relax or enjoy activities on your own. Then dinner comes.


DAY 15: Puerto Maldonado - Tambopata RESERVE (B, L, D)

We wake up and have breakfast very early to board the canoe and start our journey back to Puerto Maldonado. On the way, we will enjoy an unforgettable jungle dawn on the Tambopata River. In Puerto Maldonado, you will proceed to the airport for your return flight.
